Pensioner to stand trial for injury crash
AN elderly South Derry man has been sent for trial arising out of a serious road traffic accident almost two years ago.
Francis Kearney (79), of Carhill Road, Swatragh, is charged with causing grievous bodily injury to Roberta Benton by driving without due care and attention at Moneysharvin Road, Maghera, on November 20, 2011.
Kearney was returned for trial, on £100 bail, at Londonderry Crown Court for arraignment on August 28 when he appeared at Magherafelt Magistrates Court today.
