People should respond to housing ad says Dallat

THE Northern Ireland Housing Executive, through its rural housing policy are seeking out people in the Aghadowey and Macosquin areas who are in need of public authority housing in these areas.

Advertisements will be placed in local papers in the next couple of weeks and local SDLP Assembly Member John Dallat is anxious that these are responded to.

He said: “This is known as Latent Demand testing and allows the NIHE to measure the level of housing need in these areas.

“In the past when similar tests were carried out in areas such as Dungiven the response was very good. I would hope that a similar response will emerge in Aghadowey and Macosquin.

“I would urge anyone, particularly young people planning to live in the rural areas to contact the NIHE immediately and complete an application form. It is another way of ensuring that our rural communities are provided for and the decline in rural population can be halted.”
