6. Niamh Kavanagh
Dublin-born Niamh Kavanagh sang the winning entry at the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland, 'In your eyes.' Niamh is married to her musician husband, Paul Megahey, from Carrickfergus and the couple live in the town with their sons. She represented Ireland again in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, with the song 'It's for You.' Photo: RTE
7. Willie Irvine
William Irvine (born 18 June 1943) is a former professional footballer who played for a number of teams in England and the Northern Ireland national team. Born in Eden, Mr Irvine grew up in Carrickfergus. He played for Burnley from 1960 until 1968, scoring 78 goals in 126 games. He spent three years with Preston North End, scoring 27 goals in 81 appearances before spells with Brighton, Halifax Town and Great Harwood. 8. Louis MacNeice
