Ali drums up support for online auction

World record breaking drummer Ali Brown recently took part in a drumming marathon for charity, along with some very famous faces.

The marathon was a great success and now the drummers, including Ali who hails from Lisburn, are hoping to raise even more money for the NHS at an online auction which is being held on Saturday (July 18).

Music lovers can bid online for items donated by Blondie, Queen, Kaiser Chiefs, The Bee Gees, Genesis, U2, Simple Minds and many more, with 100% of the proceeds of all lots in this auction will be donated to the NHS Charities COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.

Paul Martin of BBC’s television series Flog It! is taking on the gavel and there are loads of very collectible music memorabilia going under the hammer online - the buzz has been loud, and the lots are up and ready for perusal and early bids recommended.

It is easy to join online to bid or just watch the action. Log onto www.dawsonsauctions.co.uk on Saturday to participate. The live auction begins at 7pm.

Errol Kennedy, of 80s supergroup Imagination, and his wife, Bev Sage, of 80s group Techno Twins, are the inspiration behind the auction. Errol said: “This auction hits home three amazing goals – we support our NHS during this pandemic, we bring a community of music lovers together and we auction some legendary music memorabilia. All items are donated and all proceeds go to the NHS. We are so grateful to all the stellar musicians and artists who have contributed.”
