An evening of music and fun in aid of Motor Neurone Disease
A special musical event will give members of the public the opportunity to enjoy a great evening out as well as supporting a very worthy cause.
Thanks to the generosity of the public over the past few weeks, Lisburn man Brian Johnston has collected just over £2,000 for Motor Neurone Disease. The money raised was from the sale of Brian’s books of humour, handcrafted reindeer and snowmen and donations received during two days he spent before Christmas collecting at Tesco’s Lisburn and Newtownbreda stores.
There is now a further opportunity to raise money for MND as Brian has organised a Musical Evening being held in 2nd Saintfield Presbyterian Church hall on Saturday, February 7, starting at 7.30pm.
Taking part will be Comber Music Club and the ever popular husband and wife duo, Jonathan and Iryna Johnston on flute and piano. The evening promises a rich variety of music from many different musical genres, which should offer something for all tastes, and with Brian compering the event there wiill be a little bit of humour thrown in along the way.

It promises to be a most delightful evening of music and fun, and at the same time providing a way to support a most worthy charity.
Brian’s books as well as Jonathan and Iryna’s CDs will also be available at the event, with all the proceeds from them also going to the charity.
Motor Neurone Disease is a rare condition which attacks the nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work. It is a rapidly progressive, life limiting disease for which sadly, there is still no cure.
MND has been receiving significant and sustained publicity over the last few years in particular, largely driven by the disease having taken the lives of notable figures in the field of sport and entertainment.
All the work of the Northern Ireland Branch of the MND Association is run entirely by volunteers, many of whom have personal experience of the disease.
Tickets for the musical evening in 2nd Saintfield Presbyterian Church hall are £15, and are available from Brian on: 07773 765781 or by email to:[email protected]
