Ballyclare artist’s work showcased in Antrim

A young artisit from Ballyclare is currently hosting his first exhibition at Clotworthy House in Antrim.

Ballyclare Secondary School pupil Scott Ferguson launched the exhibition on Friday, December 11. It is running until Friday, January 15.

Scott has enjoyed art from a very young age and hopes to go to university to continue his studies in this field and pursue a career in the animation industry.

His exhibition is an exploration of local features and landmarks which he hopes will appeal to visitors.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Cllr Jim Montgomery said: “I am delighted that the council afforded Scott the opportunity to showcase his work.

“It is clear from Scott’s display that he is very talented and I hope locals will support him on his first exhibition.”

Scott added: “I am so excited to have my artwork on display. Clotworthy House is a stunning setting with amazing galleries and it is a great honour for me to be given this opportunity to exhibit my work here.”

Arranging the exhibition will also benefit others, as Scott has generously donated a framed print to be raffled for the Mayor’s Charities, Guide Dogs Northern Ireland and Air Ambulance.

Details for this raffle will be advertised on the council website and social media pages in the New Year.
