It follows the return of some services at Ballyclare, Rathcoole and Whitehead branches on Tuesday.

Libraries NI carried out a successful pilot scheme involving 17 libraries (read here) before all branches were able to offer customers access for book browsing and limited access to IT.

As the phased reopening programme concluded this week, South Antrim MP Paul Girvan said: “Libraries across South Antrim play an important role in community life; provide a vital service to young and old.

“I would pay tribute to all the staff who have worked so hard to ensure our communities can safely return to their local library.”

Libraries NI has appealed for members to observe Covid emergency guidelines.

It stated: “Please follow the guidance provided, maintain social distancing while inside each library and please stay at home if you have any coronavirus like symptoms.
