During January, J W McNinch and Sons solicitors are waiving their fee for will-writing services with clients and instead, donating to support the charity as it strives to help get local people back on their feet and help re-build their lives.

J W McNinch and Sons solicitors will be taking part in the wider ‘Will You?’ campaign, that will see a host of legal practitioners from across the country donate their fee to help the charity rebuild lives today through its extensive care services and tomorrow through its life-saving research and health promotion and prevention services.

With people pledging commitments to New Year’s Resolutions and the period commonly viewed as the prime time to evaluate and make a fresh start, now’s the perfect time to take the necessary steps and plan for the future.

However, research shows that nearly 80 per cent of people in Northern Ireland have not made a will and the country has the highest rates in the UK of people dying without having left a will.

Sadly, there are many reasons why people put off this important task. Reasons such as ‘I’m too young, it can wait until I’m older’ or ‘I don’t want to think about dying.’

J W McNinch are encouraging local residents to meet with their team to provide peace of mind and help avoid any future stress for families at a very difficult time.

Speaking about supporting the Will You? Campaign, Alistair McCrossan, Partner at J W McNinch and Sons said: “The new year might just bring a fresh perspective and desire to ‘get things in order’ such as finances and future plans.

“We’re pleased to be both encouraging the people of Ballyclare and surrounding areas to make or amend their will while contributing to the fight against chest, heart and stroke conditions in Northern Ireland.”

Jackie Trainor, Director of Income Generation at NICHS added: “We are so pleased J W McNinch and Sons has come on board with us again as we strive to help get local people at risk of and living with chest, heart and stroke conditions get back on their feet after what has been an extremely difficult year.

“As we start 2021, the charity passion for re-building local lives through our ground-breaking research into better treatments, care and prevention is stronger than ever.”

Jackie continued: “The donation of the £100 fee will pay for our Care Team to run a six week Taking Control online Programme, to support and empower six people living with life-long chest heart and stroke conditions rebuild their lives.

“It’s important to remember your will is not only about the future – it can make a real difference now to the people living with chest, heart and stroke conditions living in Ballyclare and the surrounding area.”
