Blue Lights actress becomes patron of Lisburn charity
Award-winning Blue Lights actress Siân Brooke has been announced as the first ever Ambassador for MACS, Northern Ireland’s only youth-specific homelessness charity, which has a base in Lisburn.
Speaking about her new role, Siân said: "I am honoured to join MACS as an Ambassador.
"The work this charity does - providing safe homes, mentorship and support for young people at such a critical stage - is so inspiring and needed more than ever.
"I’m committed to championing voices that can often go unheard and to support a charity that gives young people a chance to grow, develop and work toward a bright future."

During her preparation for Blue Lights, which follows the lives of frontline police officers in Belfast, Siân met with young people supported by MACS to gain insight into the real social issues affecting young people in the city.
The experience left a lasting impression, and she has continued to support the work of the charity ever since.
MACS CEO Kate Martin said: “We are delighted to welcome Siân as our new Ambassador. She brings warmth and a genuine interest in the challenges young people face.
"Her support will help us shine a stronger light on youth homelessness and show that, with the right help and community behind them, young people can and do rebuild their lives.”
MACS is Northern Ireland’s only youth-specific homelessness charity, supporting almost 700 young people aged 11–25 each year who are homeless, leaving care, or at risk.
Through supported housing, floating support, wellbeing and participation services, MACS helps young people build confidence, resilience and independence.
