Sam Knox, BTLX founder and creator of the instrument, said the auction was boosted considerably after being mentioned by an American podcast.

“Another luthiery business in Colorado called ‘Texas Toast’ mentioned the auction on their weekly YouTube podcast. In the space of an hour, the bidding literally doubled from £70 to over £156,” he added. “The auction was finally won by a gentleman from Florida.

“I honestly couldn’t be happier with how this turned out, and I’ll definitely be doing the same thing again next year for Remembrance Day - most likely a full sized guitar as I’ll have more time to prepare, and that should hopefully raise a higher sum for the charity.”
