Carrickfergus owner’s plea for help to trace missing falcon

The owner of a falcon which is missing from Carrickfergus has urged anyone who has seen the bird to contact him.

Noel Jordan’s white falcon has been missing since Friday, January 8, from the Loughmourne area of the town.

Speaking to this newspaper today (Friday), Mr Jordan, who has owned birds of prey for 50 years, said: “I have had this falcon for six months - it is very young.

“I have been sent pictures of two confirmed sightings since it went missing. It was seen in Islandmagee, before hopping over to Donaghadee yesterday.

“I am offering a substantial reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the bird’s recovery.

“Please do not try to catch her as it will frighten her and make it more difficult for us to retrieve her.

Earlier this week the Larne Times reported that a weak and dehydrated buzzard was nursed back to health by the USPCA after it was discovered in Larne over the festive period.
