A ‘thank-you’ lunch has been held in Carrickfergus for customers who supported taxi drivers during the pandemic.

Charlie’s Taxis organised the get together at Carrickfergus Masonic Hall after drivers built up a rapport with members of the community who were vulnerable during the health emergency.

The firm said the lunch was a way “to give something back to those customers whose continued support has helped us remain open throughout Covid”.

Many of those who attended the event on Monday of last week were unable to get to shops during the health crisis and drivers took it upon themselves to run errands and pick up essential items for them.
