Catherine hopes to snap up prize

A photographer from Lisburn has been shortlisted for her entry to a national competition which seeks to reveal how businesses have been faring during the coronavirus crisis.

Catherine Falls entered the PopUp Business School Summer Photo Challenge with a photo showing herself taking a photo, in a mirror.

“I have always loved photography since I was a child,” explained Catherine. “It was a completely natural direction for me to go in. I studied photography at university and I’m fortunate enough to do something I love for a living.

“Covid has completely changed my business, although I am hopeful that, when this passes, I can go back to normal. I travel for work, and air travel all but stopped during the pandemic. There have been quarantine periods in place upon return to the UK, hotels shut and we could not be inside with others, never mind have a photoshoot. However, I have been concentrating on stock photography, and I’m so glad of this focus and income during this unprecedented time. I look forward to the time we can all return to work again.”

PopUp Business School, which helps people from all walks of life to launch their own businesses, is asking people across the UK to take a photograph which illustrates their business, or business idea, with the chance to win up to £200.
