Residents have been thanked for “their patience” after the Cave Hill Country Park was closed yesterday (Wednesday) following the discovery of a suspicious object at the beauty spot.

Police confirmed today (Thursday) that the venue has now been reopened to the public following its closure.A PSNI spokesperson said: “An item was examined and declared as nothing untoward.”
Sergeant Carey added: “The item has now been taken away and I would like to thank local people for their patience while we worked to ensure their safety.”
