Coastguard tasked to broken down boat near Carrick Castle

Members of the emergency services were tasked to an incident involving a broken down boat on Belfast Lough close to Carrickfergus Castle yesterday (Sunday).

Detailing the incident in a post on social media, a spokesperson for Portmuck Coastguard said: “We were tasked to Carrickfergus this afternoon (September 26) after reports of a broken down boat between Fisherman’s Quay and Carrick Castle.

“On arrival, we found that the boat had been washed in by the onshore wind and tide. Thankfully the crew were safely ashore.”
