Coleraine to feature in new BBC Two Vernon Kay quiz 'Do You Know Your Place?'

Vernon Kay is set to front a brand-new BBC Two celebrity quiz celebrating the towns and cities that make up the UK – and Coleraine is featured!

Do You Know Your Place? sees famous faces put their local knowledge to the test — but with The Traitors star Paul Gorton acting as an “unreliable” tour guide, not everything is quite as it seems.

Do You Know Your Place? is made by Stellify Media, the Sony Pictures Television joint venture and Belfast-based independent production company, with the support of Northern Ireland Screen and filmed at Studio Ulster.

Each weekday, Paul heads to a different destination across the UK, sending back unbelievable stories and tricky questions for three celebrity guests in the studio. Their job? Decide which of Paul’s facts are true and which are complete fiction.

Across the four-week series, the show travels from Whitby, Cardiff and Bolton to Jedburgh and Coleraine; from Belfast, Taunton, Paisley and Kirkby Lonsdale to Bangor; from Dundee, Enniskillen, Abergavenny, Bamburgh and Leicester to Londonderry, Dudley, Falkirk, Bristol and Wrexham.

Taking on the challenge across the series are Anneka Rice, Shane Todd and Remi Burgz; Owain Wyn Evans, Greg Rutherford and Abby Cook; Susan Calman, Max Fosh and Noreen Khan; and Nitin Ganatra, Rev Kate Bottley and Gladiator ‘Apollo’ Alex Gray.

Alongside Paul’s on-location challenges, Vernon keeps the competition moving with studio games inspired by each day’s destination. The celebrity with the most points at the end of each episode wins a souvenir from Paul’s travels, with one overall weekly champion crowned on Friday, receiving the coveted “I Know My Place” sweatshirt.

Vernon Kay says: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be fronting Do You Know Your Place? – it’s a cracking new quiz that’s all about the people and places we know best. It’s got great banter, brilliant guests, and that classic British competitive streak. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

With humour, rivalry and plenty of surprising facts, Do You Know Your Place? promises to test celebrity contestants and viewers at home on how well they really know the UK.

Do You Know Your Place? airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer from Monday 23 February.
