Collaborative funding bid for digital transformation

The move follows a recent call from Invest NI for councils to submit a collaborative bid for remaining funds under the ERDF Local Economic Development Measure,

If successful, this funding will enable a number of small businesses in the borough to embrace a digital transformation of their business.

The programme will complement the current digital support programmes and the existing proposals under the Belfast Region City Deal and will also focus on increasing the number of companies that can engage with the range of Challenge Funds that are likely to emerge as part of the City Deal work.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Cllr Jim Montgomery said: “I am pleased we are supporting the development of this Digital Transformation Programme.

“This funding will further support the growth and enhancement of our technology infrastructure, enabling businesses to operate in an increasingly digital world.

“We must unlock the potential of local firms and help them secure competitive advantage.

“In doing so we will secure and grow employment, and delivery greater prosperity for people in our borough.”
