Connor Magee Campbell: Co Tyrone road tragedy victim (16) 'brightened every room he entered'
A Co Tyrone teenager who died following a road collision on Thursday (July 30) has been remembered as a young man who “brightened every room he entered”.
Connor Magee Campbell, from the Clonloe area, passed away from injuries sustained in crash involving a scrambler and a Scania lorry in the Derryloughan Road area of Coalisland.
The 16-year-old former St Joseph’s College, Coalisland, pupil was a popular member of a number of youth organisations in the area.
In a statement, St Joseph’s College said it was with “profound sadness” the school community learned of his passing of their former pupil.

“Connor had recently completed his final year at the College and was looking forward to receiving his GCSE results. He remained a much-loved member of our school community, and his loss is deeply felt by students, staff and all who knew him.
“As a school community, we hold Connor and his loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. May they find strength, comfort and support in the days and weeks ahead.”
Also paying tribute was Frank Gervin Boxing Club. The Clonloe-based club stated: “It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of our member, Connor Magee Campbell.
"Connor was a bright, cheeky and lively young lad whose sparkling blue eyes and infectious personality brought joy to those around him.
"He will be fondly remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him through our club and beyond.”
Connor also made a lasting impression at his local youth club, the Ogras Centre, Coalisland, which described him as “a young man with the kindest of hearts”.
In a social media post, it added: “He would help at the drop of a hat and would do absolutely anything that was asked of him.
"Connor was a wee rogue in the very best sense of the word. He was full of love, full of laughter and full of life. He brightened every room he entered and left every person he met a little better for having known him.”
Meanwhile, Clonoe O’Rahillys GAA club said it was with “profound sadness” they learned of the passing of their club member and extended “heartfelt condolences” to Connor’s family.
A family notice on the Funeral Times website said Connor was the “beloved son of Brian and Megan Campbell and the late Kayleigh Magee RIP”. He was also a “much-loved brother” and “cherished grandson”.
