Coronavirus: Antrim Coast Half Marathon postponed

This year’s Antrim Coast Half Marathon has been postponed until the autumn, it has been confirmed.

The event will now take place on Saturday, September 12.

In a statement, organisers said: “If this date is not convenient, any runner will still be able to defer to next year’s event, scheduled March 20, 2021; please contact the race website [email protected]

“Over the past week we have been working alongside fellow organisers, medical experts, and all our amazing stakeholders, runners included, to fully understand the potential impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on our event.

“After carefully considering all this advice, we have come to the conclusion that we have no option but to postpone next week’s event.

“We’re sure you share our disappointment regarding this unavoidable postponement, especially as you have been training hard to complete this year’s race, but we hope to see you in the autumn for what will now be an even bigger event.

“Regular updates will be issued via the race website and all official social platforms; please follow our pages to keep informed of future developments.”
