Coronavirus: Co Antrim flute band distributing food to vulnerable

Members of Ballyclare Protestant Boys Flute Band will be distributing food packs to vulnerable residents in the town this week.

The packs will be made up of items including bread and a selection of non perishable goods.

Commenting on the kindhearted effort, Vice Chairman of the band, Scott McDowell, said: “The items came from Musgrave C&C and some local outlets around the town were able to get us what we needed.

“The packs will be going out over the next day or two to the elderly and the most vulnerable in society.

“It‘s fantastic for the band to be hands on in the comnunity. It’s a great feeling to be able to give something back to a community who have gave us so much support over the years, especially in these testing times.”

The band is urging anyone who is aware of any vulnerable residents in Ballyclare to contact the band’s Facebook page to organise the distribution of a food pack.
