Coronavirus: Larne church closed after positive case identified

A Church of Ireland church in Larne has been closed until at least December after a positive Covid-19 case was identified.

The Parishes of Larne, Glynn and Raloo confirmed that St Cedma’s will be closed for a deep clean on social media today (Wednesday).

Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson for the parish said: “I am sorry to have to inform you that I received a call from The Northern Ireland Public Health Covid-19 Tracing Service this morning to advise that someone in St Cedma’s on Sunday, November 15 has since tested positive for Covid-19.

“I have been in contact with those who left contact details on Sunday.

“St Cedma’s will be closed on Sunday, November 22 and Sunday, November 29.

“Once a deep clean has been undertaken we hope to resume again on Sunday, December 6.

“Services will be online and can be listened to on our telephone line. Please keep us all in your prayers.”
