Throughout the football season, the church’s car park opens its gates to cars and helps to ease congestion around Inver Park. Many Larne fans regularly take up this service, donating to charity and church organisations on their way into the car park.

The organisers of this scheme have decided to pass on £1,000 to the local NHS trust, in their efforts to support frontline staff at this time.

Stephen Ross (First Larne Car Park group) said: “We’ve decided the need of others is much greater at this time than our own need, so have decided to pass the money to the NHS.

“We have been in touch with the local trust and this money is being added to an account to support NHS workers with care packages, food and accommodation.

“As a group we thought it was important the club, and more importantly the fans who supported the car park this season are aware of what the money is being used for.”
