Coronavirus: Newtownabbey recycling not collected due to staff shortages
Residents in the Oaklands area of Newtownabbey are being advised to leave their recycling ‘wheelie boxes’ out to be collected again by 7am tomorrow after they were not emptied today (Tuesday) due to Covid-19 linked staffing shortages.

Commenting on the issue, a spokesperson for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council said: “Due to Covid related staff shortages, Wheelie Box collections in the Oaklands area of Newtownabbey were not completed today (Tuesday).
“Please leave your bins out again by 7am tomorrow morning and they will be collected tomorrow (January 5). We apologise for any inconvenience.”
