“We are urging people to donate items such as non perishable foods, tins of soup, batteries, baby formula, toilet rolls, tea bags, coffee and first aid kits.

“Anyone wishing to contribute can bring the goods to the Eastway Social Club. They will be distributed in 14-day kits to pensioners and people with medical conditions.

“I delivered 10 packs last night. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported the campaign. It is the true meaning of community.”

If you would like to make a donation, call into the Eastway Social Club between now and Saturday. Goods will be accepted between 11am and 7pm.
