Daphne has been with Bachelors Walk Dental Practice (formerly McKelvie and Henderson) for an incredible 48 years, first as a Dental Nurse and then as a receptionist, moving with the practice to the current premises in 1984.

During this time she has watched many of the patients grow from children to adults and go on to become grandparents.

Daphne knew everyone and enjoyed a good chat, to catch up on “how the family are keeping”.

She has been a familiar to face over the years with patients always asking how Daphne is. She will be greatly missed by the team and patients at Bachelors Walk Dental.

Dr.Philip Henderson said: “Daphne worked in our practice before I arrived in June 1974, as recently qualified dentist (who needed a lot of gentle guidance) and worked on for ten years after I retired in 2010. She was one of the earliest people to achieve a DSA (Dental Surgery Assistant) qualification many years before this was made compulsory by GDC.

“Daphne had many roles in practice, including Dental Nurse, Receptionist, Childminder, Babysitter, Patient comforter, Practice shopper, and had an encyclopaedic memory for our patients’ names. She forgot no-one.

The team at Bachelor’s Walk Dental Practice added: “We want to take this opportunity to thank Daphne for everything that she has done for Bachelors Walk Dental over the last 48 years and we wish her a retirement full of happiness.”
