Dungannon Ladies Probus Club enjoy a day out at Montalto House

Glorious sunshine greeted the members of Dungannon Ladies' Probus Club when they recently visited Montalto House, near Ballynahinch, County Down.

Set in 400 acres of stunning woodland and magnificent gardens, there was plenty to keep the visitors entertained, not least the very informative and interesting guided tour led by David, the general manager and son of the owners, June and Gordan Wilson.

Following a welcome 'cuppa’ and delicious scone, David outlined the history of the House and Estate since the 1800s to 1994, when his parents purchased the 'vacant ' property to be their family home. After a decade of alterations and development, and when the 'family', two sons and two daughters 'flew the nest', it was decided to change the House and grounds to become a business venture.

At this point, Montalto was opened as a private-hire venue, accommodating intimate weddings, high-end golf groups, and a wide range of corporate events.
