Easter bunny Jasmine delivers 400 eggs to delight little patients at the Ulster Hospital

Children and young people who may have to spend time in the Ulster Hospital this Easter can be assured some cheer and some chocolate after Belfast’s own Easter bunny, 16-year-old Jasmine Parker delivered her annual bountiful bundles of eggs.

In what has now become a yearly tradition, Jasmine and her mum Maggie have been visiting hospitals to make sure children will have something to enjoy at Easter.

This year saw 400 Easter eggs arrive at the doors of the Ulster Hospital, the biggest donation so far.

“I want to say thank you for the generosity of the Shankill Leisure Centre, Tesco at Ballygomartin and to the Belfast Giants who donated so many of the Easter eggs,” said Jasmine.

"I know receiving an Easter egg makes a lot of people happy, especially while spending time in hospital.

"I will keep on visiting the Ulster Hospital, it is a tradition now. I just want to say thank you again, to all who have helped.”

Jasmine’s extremely proud Mum Maggie said: “This all started ten years ago and we have been visiting the Ulster Hospital for the past eight. Never did we think that this would become what it has. Jasmine is just amazing and the ‘bunny’ is going into hibernation after this week.”

South Eastern Trust, Healthcare Play Specialist, Sharon Pauley added: “This donation from Jasmine means so much to the Paediatric Unit.

“We want to say a massive thank you to Jasmine and her Mum and everyone who has donated and provided Easter eggs.”
