Fans of cookery page encouraged to support Women's Aid

An online cookery page set up by a Carrickfergus chef is supporting a local charity after garnering thousands of followers.

Like many others in the catering and hospitality industry, Dobbins Inn chef David Simpson has been unable to go to work since lockdown began in March.

The local man established a public Facebook page, 'Home cooking recipes with David Simpson', with content including recipes and cookery tutorials.

With over 30,000 people having joined the group, the Carrick chef decided to raise awareness on the work of Women's Aid.

The page now includes a link encouraging visitors to donate towards the local branch of the charity, Women's Aid ABCLN.

Meanwhile, David has also worked with north Belfast autism/ADHD support group Blue Blossoms to produce autism friendly recipes for children.
