Odhrán’s heartbroken mother Jacqui Murray has been campaigning for justice since the attack on her son. While a number of people have been before the courts in relation to the attack, no one has been convicted.
He was just aged 23, a student who worked as a nursing assistant. Odhrán’s death was particularly shocking as he was so highly regarded and a popular young man in the Lurgan and Craigavon area.
Now his friends are planning a special sponsored walk in Odhrán’s memory to raise vital funds for the charity Hand of Hope.

Speaking for the first time since her son was laid to rest, Jacqui said: “We are all devastated over the loss of Odhrán. It has wrecked the whole family, and we love and miss him so much.”
As Justice for Odhrán posters are erected around Lurgan, Jacqui reveals that her son’s friends Mise and Aine plan a sponsored walk in his memory.
It is due to take place on 5th December 5, 2026 – close to the third anniversary of Odhrán’s brutal death.
It starts at 10am in Lurgan Park and finishes at St Colman's Cemetery.
The funds raised will be going to Hand of Hope in memory ‘of the most loving, kind hearted soul Odhrán Kelly’.
Writing on social media, the Hand of Hope charity said: “There is not a second in the day his wee mum Jacqui, and family have been left with the unbearable pain in there hearts, from Odhrán was taken from them.
"Thanks to his mum, who is also a good friend and who is always on the end of the phone for anyone in need.
"I got this lovely message that she wants to do a walk in memory of Odhrán and all proceeds are being donated to Hand of Hope.”
