Improvements to Moneymore leisure centre due to get underway.

DUP Mid Ulster councillor Wesley Brown has welcomed £100,000 of improvements to be carried out at Moneymore Recreation Centre, starting next month.

He said the works will see the creation of a new pathway, cutting back of trees and the provision of lighting as part of the scheme under the Peace IV Project.

In welcoming the scheme, he said: “ I am delighted to see these works taking place after much discussion with the local community. The new walkway will provide a much needed additional feature to the current facilities at Moneymore Recreation Centre.

"I will continue to raise the concerns of the community in that work still needs to be carried out to the playing surface of the pitch.

"In addition I will continue to press the Council to maintain and improve the facilities also on offer at Manor Park, Moneymore which has been used greatly by families and others during these past months for recreational purposes.”
