Larne care homes receive ‘important’ donation of face masks

A Larne store has donated 650 face masks to care homes in the Co Antrim town.

Asda Larne colleagues were behind the initiative in support of Inver House Intermediate Care Unit in Moyle Hospital and Larne Care Centre.

Catherine McCallion, the store’s Community Champion, explained: “Over the past few months, we have been so grateful to be in a position to be able to support our community – and we are proud to be able to donate these face masks to local carers who need them.

“During this time of uncertainty, it’s important we all come together to support one and other in any way we can.”

Michelle McErlean, staff member at Larne Care Centre, said: “This is such a lovely gesture from the colleagues at Asda Larne. These extra face masks will be shared amongst our staff members to ensure they are protected throughout their shifts.”

Sister Neill, Inver House Intermediate Care Unit, added: “We would like to thank Asda for this much appreciated donation of facemasks. It’s so important to support each other in any way we can, especially at this difficult time.”
