Alongside its National Charity Partner, Teenage Cancer Trust, Dobbies has said a special thank-you to Sarah with a gift of an afternoon tea at her local Dobbies in Lisburn, after she was nominated for her strong sense of community spirit, and her dedication in going above and beyond to make life for Lisburn residents a little brighter in 2020.

Sarah was nominated by her Aunt Linda Carlisle after she spent 2020 fundraising for a wide range of local causes. Sarah has been raising money by doing a fundraising walk every day, with the proceeds being donated to key workers and charities in the local area, including Lisburn Food Bank and Links Counselling Service.

Sarah has also delivered gifts to key workers in Lisburn to thank them for their work, including flowers, chocolates, cakes and even seeds, to bring a smile to their faces.

Linda, who nominated Sarah, said; “Sarah is truly an inspirational young woman and deserves recognition for her kindness to others. She is certainly not your average person.”

Sarah said; “I am delighted to have been named a ‘Local Hero’ by Dobbies and Teenage Cancer Trust. I’m so pleased to have been able to support key workers and charities in Lisburn, and proud that what I have done has made a difference to the community.

“I am looking forward to celebrating with my family at Dobbies.”
