Mayor pays a visit to successful dance school in Lisburn
The Mayor of Lisburn and Castlereagh, Councillor Brian Higginson, recently paid a visit to the Naomi Orr School of Dance to congratulate them on their ongoing success.
Mr Higginson had the opportunity to see the facilities at the local dance school, meet with the young dancers, and view the many trophies and awards they have won in recent years.
Naomi Orr, founder and principal of the school, was delighted to welcome the Mayor.
She said: “We were incredibly proud to welcome the Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Brian Higginson, to Naomi Orr School of Dance.

"It was a pleasure to showcase our fantastic studio, our facilities and the incredible achievements of our dancers, and to share what makes NOSOD so special.
"From being crowned Medium Dance School of the Year at the Golden Dance Awards, to receiving recognition for our outstanding jazz performances, celebrating our shining star Miss Megan Matier, and having three of our dancers recently crowned Dancer of the Year champions, there has been so much to celebrate.
"As we proudly celebrate 14 years in business, it meant so much to have our achievements recognised and to share how far our school has come.
“But NOSOD has always been about more than trophies, titles and success. We have worked tirelessly to create a studio that feels like a second home to every dancer and family who walks through our doors.

It is a place where children of all abilities can learn, grow, build confidence, develop their talents and become the very best versions of themselves, a place where our families feel supported, listened to and valued.”
She added: “We were delighted that the Mayor could experience this special atmosphere for himself and see the passion, professionalism and family spirit that make our school what it is today.
"A huge thank you to Mayor Brian Higginson for taking the time to visit us, recognise our achievements and celebrate the positive contribution our school makes to Lisburn.

"We are incredibly proud to represent our city and look forward to some exciting opportunities to come with Lisburn City Council throughout the year.
“It has been fourteen years of hard work, dedication, passion and community – and we are only getting started!”
