Mayor to host charity golf day to raise funds for local foodbanks

The Mayor is hosting a Charity Golf Day at Castlereagh Hills Golf Club on Friday May 21, in aid of his two chosen charities, Lisburn Foodbank and Dundonald Foodbank.

Councillor Nicholas Trimble Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, is calling on all golfing enthusiasts and local businesses to participate and enjoy a fun day out of the office to raise funds for two worthwhile charities.

Speaking about the fundraising event, Mr Trimble said: “The Charity Golf Day is the perfect opportunity for golfers to get back out on the golf course after lockdown to socialise and raise money for two local charities.

“My two Mayoral Charities are continuing to provide emergency food supplies to the local community and are making a real difference to people’s lives. I hope that you will consider entering a team of four players to help us raise vital funds to support their ongoing charity work.

“I’m really looking forward to the event, it’s going to a superb day out. I’m hopeful that the weather is good to us and we get to enjoy playing on the beautiful golf course.”

Tee off times are from 9am to 1pm. On arrival, each golfer will receive a bacon bap, followed by a gourmet burger to round up the event.

Tickets are £100 for each ‘four ball’ and spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment must be made at the time of your booking.
