Several of the street artists have even popped up multiple times on Belfast’s walls over the years, but their names are widely unknown, so it’s time to lift the lid on the creators and see who is behind the detailed designs we walk past each day.

5. Annatomix
Specialising in all things wildlife, these origami illustrations created by street artist Annatomix appear all over the UK and Ireland primarily depicting birds native to the area the street art has been created. Helping raise awareness on animal extinction, her Redshank mural in the heart of the city highlighted their dwindling numbers whilst also making a great piece of art. Photo: @annatomix Instagram
6. Smug
Hailing from Australia originally, Smug’s life-like designs stand out from the crowd, often immortalising his friends in giant portraits. The strikingly realistic image of a man with a lobster titled The Chef is on show to all right at the bottom of the high street, standing at three storeys tall. Photo: @smugone Instagram
7. Conor Harrington
Conor Harrington’s work travels back in time with his depictions of duels and Renaissance murals, including the one that features in Belfast. Often creating pieces with overt backstories, it’s safe to say that a picture really is worth a thousand words. Photo: @conorsaysboom Instagram
8. PANG
Situated right next to Conor’s piece (shown above), Whitewashing A Rembrandt is part of PANG’s ‘Miniature Assholes’ series, jostling the differences of contemporary and classical artwork. Her mural shows a traditional image being taken over by what is now more commonly seen in the modern street art scene. Photo: @pang_artworks Instagram
