Men in court on fisheries offences

FOUR men appeared before a sitting of Lisburn Magistrates’ Court charged with a range of fisheries offences.

Gerard Devlin and James Reynolds, both from Old Colin in Dunmurry, along with David Quinn from Ardcaoin Green in Poleglass were each fined £100 and charged and ordered to pay the offender levy of £15 as well as costs of £150 and court costs of £19 - a total of £284.

They were each charged with a range of fishing offences under the Fisheries Act (NI) 1966 and related Byelaws of Section 41(1), fishing by unlicenced and unfair means and Section 164 unauthorised entry of a fishery.

A fourth man, Zhicheng Xiao, from Woodstock Place, Belfast was fined a sum total of £334. He was found guilty under the Fisheries Act(NI) 1966 and related byelaws of Section 41(1) fishing by unlicenced and unfair means, Section 164 trespass on a several fishery, BL4 unlawful method of angling - public angling estate byelaws.

Zhicheng Xiao was fined £150 and ordered to pay an offender levy of £15 as well as costs of £150 and court costs of £19 – a total of £334.
