Twenty-four trees have already been planted on the estate in what has been described as a significant investment by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

The Executive has been working closely with the local community group and other agencies on the project to enhance the appearance of the estate.

Over the years the Leckagh housing estate has been news for all the wrong reasons including attacks on property.

DUP Councillor Paul McLean welcomed the move.

“These investments greatly enhances the area and assists the Leckagh community group as they continue their work in building within their community and beyond,” he said.
