New directory to aid Mid and East Antrim’s hospitality sector

A directory of hospitality businesses offering takeaways and deliveries has been compiled for Mid and East Antrim Borough.

It is part of a council initiative to support the sector since new pandemic restrictions were announced almost two weeks ago.

The Mayor, Councillor Peter Johnston, said: “We are calling on the local community to consider buying from local outlets when making purchasing decisions, especially in regards to hospitality sector.

“As we stay closer to home, a community-wide effort is needed to give our town centre and hospitality sector the boost they need to get through the winter.

Council is getting behind the hospitality sector and is encouraging residents to do the same.

“If you are looking for a takeaway or delivery then please remember to shop local and enjoy what’s on your doorstep.

“A small spend from each of us can have a giant impact on local businesses helping them survive the current pandemic and thrive into the future.”

With the situation remaining fluid, council says it will endeavour to keep the list as up to date as possible depending on each individual business and the changing circumstances. The directory can be viewed at www.midandeastantrim.gov.uk/shopsafesupportlocal

If any hospitality businesses want added to the list or need their details changed, they are asked to email [email protected]
