John, who is non-verbal autistic, was supposed to have his very first birthday party in a few days. Unfortunately, his parents had to take the decision to cancel due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Two officers from Newtownabbey came to brighten up his day and help him celebrate.

Detailing the kindhearted gesture, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Knowing about John’s love of all things police related, Constables Laura Wallace and John Spiers surprised him with the chance to sit in a real police car and special party bag, filled with goodies from the Neighbourhood Team. Dreams really do come true.”
