Newtownabbey residents raise over £3k for TinyLife

Kindhearted residents from across Newtownabbey helped to raise over £3,000 for TinyLife during an Easter fundraising effort.

The initiaitive commenced after relatives of a baby girl who was born eight weeks’ early decided to raise money for the charity that has supported them this year.

Phoebe Brown from Newtownabbey was born eight weeks before her due date on January 23. She remained in hospital until February 20 and is now thriving at home.

Her family wanted to raise funds for TinyLife after the charity helped them adapt to life with a premature baby.

A friend of Phoebe’s family contacted the Times this week to provide an update on the generous effort.

Commenting on the initiative, they said: “In the last six weeks, family and friends of Phoebe Brown raised a total of £3,222.95 for TinyLife. A TinyLife mascot and Easter Bunny went round the local community and visited children over the Easter break.

“We all wish to send a huge thank you message to the community from those who donated/ bought raffle tickets and to those who showed up and supported in the surrounding areas.”
