The advice has been issued in a bid to try and alleviate traffic issues in the area following the introduction of the latest coronavirus restrictions.

Glengormley Alliance representative, Ald Julian McGrath contacted the Times to highlight the issue.

Commenting on the scheme, Ald McGrath said: “After being pressed by residents on queues at McDonald’s Drive Thru, Glengormley, and the impact on the immediate traffic and surrounding area, I met with its business manager and then each of the other businesses opposite - Creative Tiles, FunWorks and Jollyes.

“McDonald’s is keen to alleviate pressure in the area and will again implement a one-way system from the weekend for its customers.”

Customers are being encouraged to come in at the Farmley entrance, drive through the car park at Tramways and round past the Movie House to the restaurant.

They are being asked to exit via the Glenwell Road junction.
