Paul Grant is named as victim of collision in Waringtown

Police have confirmed that the man who died following a collision in Waringstown on Thursday evening (November 24) was 65-year-old Paul Grant from the Portadown area.

Sergeant McIvor from the PSNI Collision Investigation Unit said: “Paul sadly died at the scene in the Moss View area after he was struck by a lorry at around 5.45pm.“We are continuing to appeal for information and anyone who may have captured dashcam footage of the collision can get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference 1460 of 24/11/22.”

Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart said the Waringstown community is in shock following news of the tragedy.

Carla Lockhart said: “First and foremost, my deepest sympathy goes to the family and friends of the gentleman who has lost his life. The shock and sorrow they will be feeling at this time will be acute, and they are very much in my thoughts and prayers at this time. Likewise the entire Waringstown community are in shock at such a tragic accident.

"I would join with the PSNI in asking anyone who witnessed this tragic accident to please make themselves known to the police.”

Moss View was closed for several hours after the incident.
