Police issue appeal after two hospitalised following Carrickfergus collision

Inspector Gary Craig said: “We were made aware of the incident around 2.45pm and attended alongside colleagues from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. A man in his 70s and woman in her 50s were injured as a result of a collision with a blue Mercedes car at traffic lights near Meadow Hills.

“Both were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

“Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with any information to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1094 of 09/11/21.

“A report can be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport. Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org”

A Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) spokesperson added: “NIAS despatched two Emergency crews and one Rapid Response Paramedic to the scene. Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance.”
