Police no longer concerned about man seen in underwear and shirt in Ballyclare area

Officers were concerned for the safety of a pensioner seen walking along the Ballyclare Road in Templepatrick at around 6.30am in only his underwear and a shirt.

Providing an update, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Thanks to social media, the person we were looking for has come forward and spoken to police.

“We have checked on his welfare and there are no longer any concerns for his safety.

“There were multiple comments on the original post regarding the failure of people to stop with this male. Everyone has their own reasons for not stopping with someone, such as personal safety and more relevant now is Covid-19.

“We are just thankful that people took the time to report their concerns to us.

“If you ever see someone and you have concerns for their safety or welfare, please call us on 101 or 999 in an emergency. Thank you to everyone for their assistance.”
