Public reminded to keep dogs on leads around livestock following attack on sheep near Giant's Causeway
The National Trust has issued a reminder to the public to keep their dogs on leads near livestock, following an attack on sheep near the Giant’s Causeway.
Posting on Facebook, the Giant’s Causeway – along with other National Trust properties Mussenden Temple and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge – said the attack had taken place at nearby Dunseverick Harbour.

The post said: “Sheep worrying can have devastating consequences, causing significant stress, often leading to short and long-term issues, including fertility problems, abortion in pregnant ewes, serious injuries, and in some cases, death.
"Dogs have the potential to cause serious distress to grazing livestock, if not properly controlled. Preventing incidents like these starts with responsible dog ownership.
"Please follow all on-site signage and keep your dog under close control around our special places to help keep grazing livestock safe from harm.”
