Remembrance Sunday: Mid and East Antrim traffic advice

Road users are advised to expect delays across Mid and East Antrim this Sunday (November 13) due to planned Remembrance Day parades.

A police spokesperson said: “Local diversions will be in place where required. There may be slight, short disruption to traffic due to the volume of participants in the parades.

"If you can seek an alternative route to avoid any potential delays, please do so.”

Meanwhile, the Royal British Legion was joined by members of the community to observe a two-minute silence on Armistice Day. People gathered in towns in the borough at 11am on November 11 to mark the end of World War One in 1918.

The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Noel Williams, was among those who attended the silent tribute at the Big Lamp in Carrickfergus.
