Shock and sadness at sudden death of popular Portadown man Aaron O'Neill

Shock and sadness has followed news of the death of popular Portadown man Aaron O’Neill.

Mr O’Neill died suddenly yesterday (Wednesday) prompting a huge wave of grieve of the town.

Married with three children, Mr O’Neill was involved in a variety of clubs in the town.

Leading the tributes was St. Mary's YCFC which said: “We as a club and community are shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of our former player and good friend Aaron O'Neill.

"Aaron was a friend not only to our club but to the entire community and he will be sorely missed.

"We offer our sincere condolences to his wife Becky, children Caitlin, Saorla and Cushla and to the wider O'Neill family circle. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.”

One person said: “One of life's finest and kindest gentlemen...always a hello and kind word for anyone... would of done anyone a good turn. God really does take the best.”

Another friend said: “So so sad.. such an amazing person and his love for life.. sending love and prayers for all the family at this very sad time.”

Mr O’Neill, from Rose Cottages, is the beloved husband of Rebecca (Becky), and loving daddy of Caitlin, Saorla and Cushla, dearly loved son of Deirdre and the late Seamus, dear brother of Tracy and Cathy and a much loved uncle.

His funeral arrangements will be revealed later.

His death is deeply regretted by his loving wife, children, mother, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and family circle.
