Workers at the DVA Centre in Carn, Portadown said they are ‘very concerned’ about people showing up for COVID-19 tests even though that testing centre has moved to another part of Portadown.

While the DVA Centre had, until two weeks ago, been a testing centre for COVID-19, those wishing tests are now requested to go to the Central Sports Arena at Kernan Kill Road, in Portadown.

One worker at the Carn DVA depot said staff there were concerned for their health and those of clients awaiting MOTs that people were just arriving for tests unaware the COVID-19 testing site had moved.

“They are just landing and getting out of their cars, some not even wearing masks, and asking staff where to go,” he said.

“The workers at the depot are very concnerned about them turning up and not showing social distancing,” he said.

He added that when there was COVID-19 testing, those arriving had been asked to stay in their cars and only roll their window down slightly to accept the test.

“They are getting out of their car with no masks.

“The staff here are very concerned,” he said.
