Tandragee Church delivers PPE for NHS

Tandragee Free Presbyterian church has welcomed the arrival of some of its £50,000 PPE order for frontline NHS staff at Craigavon Area Hospital.

Speaking following the delivery the Minister of the church, the Rev John Gray, said: “As a church we are absolutely delighted to welcome the delivery of this vital Personal Protection Equipment for the NHS staff at Craigavon Hospital.

“Everyone is well aware of the critical situation with regards to dealing with Covid-19 and as a church we have nothing but praise for the Doctors, nurses and support staff who day and daily face the battle of preventing infection and caring for those are ill.

“We pray that this PPE will be of great benefit to all who use it and that they might know that it is given from a heart of compassion and love and that through this practical act Christ might be exalted and souls touched.”

Clerk of Session Lavelle McIlwrath continued: “Our congregation are thrilled to know that in some small way they have contributed to the ongoing fight against Covid-19 in our local hospital.

“Many of the congregation have received great care over the years as patients at Craigavon Area Hospital and this was an opportunity to give something back.

“We are just thrilled to see the order arriving which includes 1,500 quality scrub sets and 39,600 aprons.

“A total of 20,000 face masks are scheduled to arrive within days.

“The Lord has been so good to our congregation down through the years and we trust this simple act of practical Christianity will not only help staff stay safe but indeed speak to others in our community in these dark and difficult days.”
