The Shaftesbury Park event - part of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s programme to mark the centenary of Northern Ireland - had been scheduled for Saturday afternoon. However, in a statement this morning (Friday), the local authority said it would be rearranging the Teddy Bear’s Picnic.

A council spokesperson said: “The event is being postponed and a new date will be arranged over the next few days.

“The postponement is due the predicted adverse weather conditions and the issuing of a weather warning for Saturday.
